Please note that currently, the app needs to be installed manually. While there is typically no need to uninstall the existing app before installing the update, if the installation fails, it is recommended to uninstall the existing app first.

This app is known for being the fastest and most versatile dictionary app on the market. It fully supports various dictionary file formats such as Lingvo, Babylon, StarDict, Lingoes, and Dictd. The articles are displayed with full formatting, colors, images, and sounds. Lookups are incredibly quick. With this app, you can have all your desired dictionaries conveniently stored on your Android device!

It's essential to note that this app is a shell and does not come preloaded with dictionaries, similar to how a music player does not come with music. You can use the files you already have or acquire dictionaries from the internet.

The following formats are supported:

• Lingoes .LD2 files
• Babylon .BGL files
• ABBYY Lingvo .LSD, .DSL, .LSA and .DAT files
• StarDict files
• Dictd files
• Hunspell .AFF/.DIC morphology files

To use these formats, simply copy the corresponding files onto your SD card in the GoldenDict directory.

• WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - to create index files for your dictionaries
• WAKE_LOCK - to ensure your phone doesn't sleep while indexing is in progress (it's a one-time operation)
• INTERNET, PHONE_STATE - to show advertisements

This version is free and ad-supported. The number of active dictionaries is limited to five. For an ad-free experience with unlimited dictionaries, consider purchasing the paid version.
